StripedLines

The striped bass fishing app built to think like a striper.

StripedLines has striper biology built in and ranks spots from Maine to New Jersey against live conditions, for anglers who want to understand the why, not just the where.

Why it exists

Most fishing apps print one number for the whole day from a moon calendar and a weather widget. The water does not work that way: the same tide can turn one piece of structure on and leave water a few hundred yards away quiet. StripedLines rates the spots and the hours on your water, so you can see which of the options you actually have is strongest.

Built on striper biology

It starts from how striped bass live: the water temperatures they prefer, when the spring and fall runs reach each stretch of coast, and how tide, current and light change a piece of structure through the day. Then it checks those against the live conditions on your water.

What it reads

1,286,859 spots across 121 tidal zones, Maine to New Jersey, rated against the tide, current, water temperature, wind, waves, light and depth, from public NOAA, satellite and buoy data. When a reading is estimated rather than measured on your water, the app says so.

What it will not do

  • Promise you a fish. It ranks the water in front of you; the fishing is still yours.
  • Pass a rating off as a chance. A rating orders the choices in front of you. It is not a probability of anything.
  • Share the spots you save. They are yours, they stay private, and they never enter anyone else’s recommendations.

It is free to sign up. If it talks you out of a session and you go anyway and find them, that is worth hearing about. Tell me on Instagram.
